Winding Down

The little things are piling up and seem overwhelming at times but I think we see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here are some pictures of the pavement being poured. We hoped and prayed we would make it into our lovely building by Christmas. God had other plans to help us stay focused on His birth this year.

A faithful Christian man will be arriving on Tuesday from MI to install all our carpet!

We can't thank you enough for your prayers during our building project.

Everyone at Community Baptist Church wishes you a blessed Christmas and a New Year that draws you closer to the Lord!

Ha Ha Mike! We finally got a picture of you!! This is the onsite superviser from the construction company.

Things are moving fast!!

It is so exciting to see the transformation. Each day something is added! We now have tile in all the bathrooms and foyer. The father of one of our members came to help us all the way from TX. We have learned that God gives the best when it comes to His house. This man does the tile for Sax Fifth Ave's! The ladies have almost completed the murals in the nurseries. The painting is done everywhere except the balcony. The carpet will be here the 2nd week in Dec. Keep praying for us!

The Gym has walls

Things are taking shape! Things are happening very fast now. Our men have wired the church for every technical device imaginable. We are going high-tech!

The drywallers finished the gym and are heading to the bathrooms and the nurseries. The painter for the gym ceiling will be here on Thurs (Sept. 25) After that the CBC men will get ready to paint, lay tile and do many many finishing touches! We are still praying our move in date is just before Christmas.

The Cement is Poured

We have a floor! It is exciting times for Community Baptist Church. There has been many things accomplished in the last several months, most of it hasn't been photo worthy. Here are a few shots of the day the cement was poured.

COME ON IN...THE BUILDING IS FINE!

Well, we had a set back with the roof the erectors installed. Let’s just say it was ALL WRONG. The steel roof had sags, sweeps and scratches…not to mention just outright bad workmanship. Thank the Lord for giving us a “prayed up” and knowledgeable building team, that caught the problem and took immediate action with our engineering company. The entire roof was removed and reinstalled with careful supervision. There is no cost to the church, but we will be about 6 weeks behind. In the scope of things 6 weeks is nothing compared to a lifetime free of leaks and rust!
The siding and windows are being installed. You can actually come inside and feel the size and envision the classrooms, gym, bathrooms (yea ladies!) and auditorium. The site work engineer has grated and leveled the road leading to our Education wing. The carport will be a blessing to our Mom’s with small children as they can drop them off and stay dry. Things are moving. We pray they will continue with no major set-backs.

A Brief Pause

For those of you who check our blog regularly, we are sorry for the delay in progress. Our town put a temporary stop to the building progress. Our engineers submitted the steel plans for approvals late. The city stopped the progress (even though the building was half way up) until they could further review the plans. Our engineers guarantee that this pause will NOT change our move in date. They will work overtime if needed to stay on schedule. So after 2 weeks, the building is moving once again. The roof is scheduled for this Monday. Pray for no more delay!

A Prayer For The Workers

The other night Pastor made his way to the property for a time of enjoying the days progress and to have time alone thanking God for this wonderful work. His thoughts seemed to stay upon the workers that show up here everyday. His burden increased as to how we could ever have time to talk to them about the Lord. Here is the prayer he wrote on the outside entrance of what will soon be the main church doors.

"...All That Enter In."

...all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 4:23.

We have an entrance! Pray as those souls "enter in" they will find the thing they have been searching for...a friendly face, a warm handshake, the Gospel. It is important for us to keep our eyes focused on those who may enter these doors. We would like to see many of these workers saved!

The Steel Has Arrived!

Today was the most exciting day yet! Early this morning 3 truck loads of steel arrived at
950 Goldstar Hwy. Many calls came into the Ludka home this morning...all sounding like little kids at Christmas time..."it's here, it's here!" and "you should see all the people blocking traffic just to get a look" and "I can't believe it's actually here!" These exciting days will only get better. Thank you God for giving us so much to be thankful for!

A Firm Foundation

The foundation is done and the back fill is complete! Now we are in the process of leveling the parking lot and moving some very big rocks! Of course you know that rock is the Connecticut state flower. The steel should be on the property the end of February.

Community Baptist Groundbreaking

Besides the very first service when CBC opened it's doors, today was the most exciting day for Community Baptist Church. It is hard to believe that a vision that began in the heart of one man, could become the vision and dreams of so many in only 7 years! The day began with a "buzz" in the air. Even the children knew that today would be a special day where they would realize how God used all their pennies, nickles and dimes for this great work. After the morning service we all headed to our property where we enjoyed watching people stroll through, claiming this land as "our own". It finally became tangible, touchable and real. Our building team and their wives came forward and were thanked by our Pastor for their time, prayers and hard work in making this day possible. Then Pastor Ludka gave a speech on how it all began and cast the vision of what will come. Mike Teel gave a prayer of dedication and then the shovels were handed to the Building Team. What a thrill it was to see the dirt moved for the first time from these wonderful men. After that, we enjoyed pictures of each family with the hard hat and shovel. These memories will last a lifetime. Some of the greatest pictures were from our youth group and children. We know this is the future generation of Community Baptist. Then, we came forward and unveiled the new "Future Home of Community Baptist Church" sign. One of the joyous things of the day was to see Mr. and Mrs. Watrous there, viewing the very thing they have yearned for in the last 7 years. Mr. Watrous' dream is "see a church building before I go home to be with the Lord" Well, Mr. Watrous..."it is truly happening!" Thank you Lord for such a wonderful day and giving us so much to be thankful for.

The Foundation

It is foundation day! We did run into a snag. As the engineers were digging they ran into LEDGE! Yes, the word no one wants to hear. I guess some chipping away will take place, if that is not enough we will have to blast.

LOOK AT ALL THIS TRAFFIC

Traffic is usually a terrible thing...unless you are building a church and want the visibility.
This video may be boring to some, others will be thrilled to see each car being a potential visitor someday. Thank you God for such a great location.

The Building Begins

There is no doubt that these are the most exciting days at Community Baptist Church. After much prayer and diligent work by our pastor and building team, construction on our new church home has begun.
Today our engineers will be digging the foundation. It is about 30 degrees out today, but the show must go on! The Lord has held off many storms in order for the ground to stay warm enough to dig. Sorry kids, I know the lack of snow is disappointing, but much better things are coming! Enjoy!
